Competence, quality and reliability

 

The company Argotec AG was founded in 1987 as an EDM job shop (Lohnerodierbetrieb). This core competency is still the focus of the brand Argotec AG. With many years of know-how our well-organized team offers advice and custom solutions.
 
Thanks to our up to date equipment, we have been able to increase our cutting rates from a modest 80 mm2 per minute to 500 mm2 per minute! Our customer base has also grown to encompass more than 300 companies across an enormous range of fields (watchmaking, micromechanics, tool making, machine making, medical technology and space technology).
 

All these customers contribute to the development of our wire EDM skills. You can always be sure of top quality and total reliability. As a contractor we are extremely flexible and react quickly to your special requirements. Our day is determined by total adherence to your deadlines and our commitment to an attractive cost-performance ratio.

Going forward, with solid growth and by developing new applications, we intend to remain a leader in this field.

Wire EDM Contractor

  • 1987: Company founded.
  • 1st new machine a Charmilles Robofil 200.
  • After 1 year: 30 satisfied customers and profitable.
  • 1989: 2nd Charmilles machine Robofil 200.
  • 1990: Relocation to larger premises.
  • 1991-1994: The German-Japanese company Makino loans us a wire and a die-sinking machine to demonstrate it's features to potential Swiss customers.
  • Customer base now over 100.
  • 1993: Move into new building (rental).
  • Purchase of new state-of-the-art wire EDM machine Robofil 4000 and a used Roboform 200 die-sinking machine with tool changer.
  • New customer: SMH watch company: We are the exclusive supplier for components for prototypes and pilot productions.
  • 1994: Purchase of a new machine for large parts – Charmilles 510, XYZ = 700 x 400 x 400 mm.
  • 1995: Purchase the latest Robofil 4020.
  • Purchase of a SH2 start hole drilling machine.
  • Customer base now over 200.
  • 1997: Start of apprenticeship program with first Mechapractician.
  • Purchase of a Charmilles Robofil 330 with deep water bath for high parts.
  • 2000: final apprenticeship examination of the first Mechapractician.
  • 2002: the final apprenticeship examination of first Polymechanic.
  • 2003: Purchase of latest technology – a Charmilles 2030. New customer acquisition increases.
  • 2004: Sleek and fast-growing SMEs in the Wire EDM sector.
  • 2005: Reorganization with a company manager and workshop manager:  The founder takes a step back continuing to support the company as a coach.
  • 2006-2009: Dynamic growth with eight wire erosion machines and six employees. Sales in excess of 2 million francs.
